Today I get home from work to find a small USPS Priority Mail package in the mailbox.
I did recently order some crap for my RC Planes (parts) but just ordered them Friday, so I knew that was out.

The package came from Alabama, so that limited the choices/suspects even more.

I open the box to find a pipe bag and a beautiful Moretti Rhodesian pipe.
No letter, no note, no packing slip, nothing.

The pipe is great, brand new / unsmoked, and there couldn't have been a better surprise for today.
Needless to say, I was completely shocked and totally speechless!

Now, for the 2 questions that remain:

1. - Who did it?

2. - What to break it in with?

To the culprit - I now have your address, and vengeance will be mine.

Now that's what I call a helluva fine bombing! Great looking pipe, and you'll prolly put some aro in it won't you?

Seems to me ikeenum lives in 'bama.

Cheers,

RR

I've never owned a Moretti, and this is a fantastic specimen.

As far as blends, a think that a nice VA is in order for breaking this one in - maybe some FMC 2000.

Wooo Hoooo.. Congrats on your good fortune!

Many congrats Rob, that's a beauty, and much kudos to the bomber.
It's a mystery isn't it?
I don't know but I wouldn't be suckered by the Alabama postmark, I reckon you may have to look much further North to find the culprit.
Just a 'feeling in my water' - no proof or knowledge involved.

Gosh, the plot thickens. Two possible culprits! Much further north? Now who could that be?! :suspect:

You suspect the bearded fat guy who lives near the North Pole?

And he's not talking about Santa Claus.

Honestly i'm still blown away by the generosity.
I'd have been happy to receive a good MM Cob.  :D

Rob, I hope she brings you many quality smokes, and turns out to be one of your favorites! If I were you, I would break her in with some Fragrant Matured Cake so she smells like maple syrup when you wake up in the morning. ;)

You son of a gun, I thought that name/addy was you!

Man, that was way too much, but it's greatly appreciated.
Don't worry about the pipe, as she's already in regular rotation.

The FMC smokes great in it, and I have an unopened tin of Erinmore Flake just waiting to be cracked open today.

Hhhmmmmm, pancake sryup and juicy fruit. what a combo of flavors to build up in that pipe.  :lol!:

Rob, now if McClelland would just come out with a tobacco that smelled like sausage links!
