Well I finally finished this bent Dublin tonight. It's ok, but I envisioned something better as far as finish and was going to rusticated it but I kind of liked the grain and went with it. I should have done the rustication. I think it would have turned out better if I did something similar to a donegal, or sea rock finish. Let me know what you think. I have to take all of the finish measurements but its almost 6 inches long and 2 1/8 tall, 3/4 bowl diameter, 1 7/8 deep. Oh, and sorry for the crap photos. I'll be doing better photos soon hopefully.

Goodness, you got that shape down to a T, very very nice looking pipe, I love the Tulip shape to the bowl rim, the concave shaping works really well, if I ever got half as good at this as you I will be a happy man, bravo.

Blue Shop Towels! Yes!

Ok, Seriously, I wouldn't have changed a thing on that one. You nailed it 100%!
Beautiful grain, perfect dimensions, great choice of stem color, I can't think of any way to make it better. With grain like that there is no need to rusticate anything on it.

Thanks guys :) I've got to do a couple more Dublin shapes in the next month so I can choose which to send into the Kansas City show for the seven day pipe contest. I'm hoping to get one that I know would belong in that set :p

Dublin shapes are one of those "hit & miss" things with me. Mostly, I don't like 'em. This one, however, nails it on all counts. The stem, the shape, the bend, the poise, everything. Very nicely done.

Awesome job BB! I really like the color combination, as well as the fact that I can immediately tell that your Dublin will make a great clencher. Congrats on what is obviously some fine craftsmanship!

Lucky buyer. I think it's safe to say this is probably the best Dublin I've laid eyes on to date. Simplicity and elegance--glad I came back to look at it again. Gotta love BoB for window shopping.

You did a great job and really nailed the shape! Well done.

Ed

Great pipe. It would be a pipe I would want to buy. I think the grain is two or three degrees better than what I feel supports a smooth. The stem at the button looks somewhat too thick; but that's me, I prefer a tapered or saddle stem.
