What does each mean? The red vs black, the SR71, etc?
It's all a little bit of fun. They are BoB bomber insignia and they are optional.

Black - 1 mission flown
Red - 5 missions flown
SR71 - covert mission flown against Blackhorse
Purple Heart - past bomber target
SR71 Purple Heart - covert mission target
Honor star - (temporary) precise strike for bombs that hit on the intended day

The BoB bombers are a group who send parcels (bombs) to predetermined targets on a predetermined day. If you are curious check out he last two missions or click on the link PB provided.

...then there's the Shadow... ...an icon in his (her?) own right...

Ah...the BoB Bombers Squadron. Some old. Some young. None have displayed vanity that I've seen. Just a bunch of Merry Pranksters that find it rewarding to bomb the holy crap out of a few deserving sods. We usually number between 25 to 30 per mission and try to hit our target(s) all at once so they are buried under piles of boxes...delivered by a snarling postal worker. It's considered especially exciting when we free a brother from a surly wife that thinks hubby's gone on an internet buying spree - so she packs her bags for a trip to Mama's. Um, I think that's happened three times. Local urban renewal departments have awarded us merit citations for the destruction of neighborhood eyesore properties. We've left some pretty amazing craters. Just imagine getting hit by 15 - 30 red, white and blue boxes full of pipe stuff, etc.

Since we have (in addition to a core cadre of loyal members) guys signing on, going on leave or resigning from active duty pretty regularly, the bombs and stars and all that play the role of announcing our existence to other members. One or two new members a month is pretty common.

Really, it's simple. What we're about is enabling good guys to do good things to other good guys. The napalm just makes it more festive.
