C&D Strathspey description on tin says A Classic Scottish blend. Heavy with Latakia & deep Orientals, subtly sweet with light & dark pressed Cavendish and a touch of Scotch. opening the tin a very strange sweet odor of, well, sort of what you might think a pile of day old orange peels might smell like, perhaps this sweet smell has something to do with the scotch whiskey.
I know things don't always taste as they smell so I packed a bowl and gave her a light, but there it was, a faint flavor of what I was smelling, now I am sure day old orange peels taste worse than they smell but this stuff didn't, strangely the flavor complimented the tobacco flavor which was mild and smooth, I didn't notice the latakia in the blend, but I definitely tasted that sweetness, But there was a taste I couldn't put my taste buds on but I knew it was familiar, after a few more puffs and the wife taking a few sips as she walked by, it finally hit us, a long time ago we used to smoke Jakarta clove cigarettes, the old ones that were shaped like bats and had no filter, we werent tasting any clove but it left the same flavor of sweetness behind, the only thing I can think of is the oriental tobacco they used, I would imagine the clove cigarettes were a blend of oriental tobacco and clove

So any ways a very interesting tobacco, Like it? yes, love it? no, but I know there will be days when I want something that tastes "different" and that will be what I end up stuffing in a pipe

I couldn't get through my tin of that wretched blend. Maybe I had a bad one but never again shall I foul my pipe with such. I tried to give 0 stars on TR but the system would not let me. I just could not stomach that rotten orange smell. Glad that you enjoy it though. If we all had the same tastes it would indeed be a boring world. :sunny:

it's definitely an odd one there wobbly, but I wouldn't say it was horrible, just odd, I could see how some folks would not like it
