I just do mine in the dishwasher and let them dry in there - but upside down in a dish rack will do you just fine - sterility isn't required, just nice and clean - the tobacco isn't sterile.

Thanks! That's what I figured. As I understand it, it's bacteria that enhances the flavor of aged tobacco. However, some of the things I've read make it seem like your dealing with surgical tool or something.

Just wanted to double check. Don't want my precious Virginias going to waste.
 
So long as you don't have mould spores in there (which the dishwasher should take care of), you're good to go.

Have a care to the lids, though. New ones.
