It looks like for the foreseeable future, my work/business doing what I do with geology is going in the tank. The politics (local to world), economics and already volatile nature of what I do has added up too fast and too much. Could be a year, could be twenty. Back to the drawing board. My father is devastated, and I'm more worried about him than I am myself.

What does this mean for here? Diminished participation. That will delight some and bother others, but it is what it is. It has nothing to do with the thread where PeeB was hoping jokingly for my disappearance and Cart not-so-jokingly. Just coincidence.

This is just a note so I don't get repeating messages in my inbox here wondering where I am. I'm out looking for work, which if not attended to directly and consistently, will be difficult in the state with one of the lowest (if not THE lowest) unemployment rates in the country. I'm going to be fighting PhD holders for dishwashing jobs in casinos. Sounds like fun, huh?

So goes life. We were designed to be corporate cogs, not independent machines. I'm flexible. Angry, but flexible. I thought I could avoid it but... c'est la vie.

I'll post when I can.

Hey Kyle - Walmart is hiring part-time seasonal workers.

Seriously, do what you need to do. This place will continue on as usual. Check in when you can and keep your head up, Brother!

Best of luck with the job search Kyle, I hope you find something quickly, be thinking of you my friend. :sunny:

Best of luck with the job hunt, Kyle. Keep your head above water - we'll still be here when things get sorted out.

Good luck and take care guy. As usual, it's Onward thru the Fog

Bummer...keep your head up. You could always go back to roasting coffee, right? :p

We'll keep a light on for you Kyle. Best of luck on the job hunt!

Jim

Good luck and keep your eyes open. As quickly as the thing came to a stop it can fire right back up again. Some grant or contract gets unleashed and suddenly jobs in a field reappear.

Best of luck to you bud, one door closes and a better one will open. MIKE

Good luck Kyle!

Personally I hire intelligence and attitude over diplomas. Good attitude, self confidence, mental toughness, and the desire to help people - those our the attitudes and attributes I need from my people.

I think you would fit the bill. Someone in your neck of the woods will also.

Onward & Upward, buddy !

Keeping the light on for you & your place saved

:face:

Tough times Kyle and tough to read this. I feel you'll land on your feet as you have a positive attitude. Seems to me you can turn your hand to whatever you put your mind to. Not many can do that.

I'll miss your frequent insights here, but we'll all still be here whenever you can find the time to check in.

Go forth and prosper brother.

:sunny:

Cheers,

RR

Hang in there, bro. Been there...

How are your cumbia/grupero keyboard chops btw? We could get you some work in some local bands surely...

Good luck Buddy, I think you should go be a column writer for your local news paper! I hate reading personally but I like how you ram words together
