You would buy a gift card at 80 cents on the dollar. Then if there's another 20% sale you would be using your 80cents/dollar to buy 80cents on the dollar thus paying 64% of full price when all is said and done.

Well one, they didn't have anything I wanted in stock so I bought the gift card at 20% off.  So $80 for $100.  With the 15% off on today's deal and using my gift card my total cost including tax was $95 instead of $134 or 30% off on 5 lbs of tobacco.
