Hello BoB!

I'm Jason...Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've been smoking, collecting, refurbishing and reselling vintage briar for almost 13 years. I like to say that I'm a Project Manager by day and a Pipe Adoption Specialist by night. It wasn't long after purchasing my very first estate pipe in 1999 that I immersed myself in my new hobby. I almost immediately developed a true appreciation for the bygone art and craftsmanship of these vintage pipes and felt it was my duty to rescue each and every one I could get my hands on. Over the years, I've been fortunate to have close to 2000 pipes, and in many cases their sentimental histories, pass through my hands. I'm sure that some of the Brethren have purchased from me in the past and if so, I thank you kindly.

Most importantly, I'm looking forward to contributing to the community that has unknowingly made me laugh out loud, silently nod in agreement and educated me about my passion over the years. For this, again, I thank you.

Forgot to mention, I'm also a member of a KCBS sanctioned competition team. Thought it worth mentioning if perhaps there were others here. :pig:

Welcome from Austin, Texas! We're hosting the Formula 1 racing tour here this weekend for the first time and we're expecting anywhere from a 100,000 to 400,000 "tourists" for the three-day event. It's going to be a busy three days...a good time to stay home out of the traffic and enjoy a few good smokes. :)
