I HAVE CONSIDERED USING MY COFFEE GRINDER TO BLEND (sorry about the caps) tobaccos- anyone else try this?

I can't imagine that would be necessary. Flakes rub out easily enough, plugs arent that hard to work with. A good sharp knife and clean hands are all that I need. Dirty hands for extra flavor.

I have tried it and it tends to turn the pipe tobacco into snuff. You can actually suck the tobacco through the stem.

Maybe not necessary, but more effecient- better blending potential?
A bit OCD really as Jeffe said above, "... really not necessary"   Do it if you must, and let us know if it really is better

Just make sure you clean the coffee grinder well before using it for coffee again or you might end up with coffee having a subtle taste of fresh hay or nuttiness of burley. Either I'd rather smoke then drink. :suspect:

Please don't ruin a perfectly good coffee grinder like that. :p

I'm not sure it would help. It would just pulverize into dust.

Some folks do use them for breaking up things like tambolaka tobacco.
