Got the first pipe at a drugstore in 1979, smoked cheap pipes and tobacco until 1982 when I bought a Peterson and discovered English mixtures. These days I prefer larger pipes and lean heavily towards the Italian aesthetic, but I’ve stuck with English blends since I was introduced to them.
