I just started smoking a few bowls and cannot keep it lit. It doesnt seem to be to moist and I'm packing pretty loose. I am using a corn cob and a falcon.

If it's ribbon cut, you may need to pack it a little tighter at the top to restrict the air flow somewhat. Be sure to draw hard enough to draw your flame deeper into the bowl. If you still have trouble, let the pipe sit loaded for an hour to allow the tobacco on top to dry somewhat. It always makes for a better tasting smoke, when you do this regardless.

As for the cob, it is super easy to crack a shank, without an audible "crack" as is so noticeable with briar. If you find a crack in your cob shank, simply wrap it neatly with some heavy duty thread, then coat the thread with epoxy, and give it a day to dry.
