Help with Pipe Identification

Anyone have any clue as to the details of this pipe (brand, manufacturer, dating, etc.)? My research has turned up empty. :roll:

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, the photos make the stem appear as though it is too large for the shank. Actually, it is a perfect fit. The pipe is unsmoked and I am sure that the vulcanite stem is original to the pipe.




 
I'm glad the post generated at least one positive result! I also looked at pipehil with no luck. Maybe someone else will have any idea?
 
Georges Sachs was a tobacconist from the 1920's to the 1940's Location NY

Briarcraft was also in NY during the same period 1920-40

Richard Kliethermes Sr. was the founder of Briarcraft. First located on Pipetown Hill Rd, Spring Valley, NY., it moved later to 66 Central Ave., Spring Valley, NY.
After the death of RK Sr., business was run by Richard Kliethermes Jr. († 1943) and was quite prosperous between 1920 and 1940. The company closed in 1950.

I wouldn't be surprised if both pipes were made by the same outfit. The Diamond B logo is identical to the Briarcrafts. The stem looks like a Sachs and the bowl a Briarcraft. The diamond logo on a Briarcraft stem is vertical , whereas the Sachs stem has the exact same diamond set horizontally. Perhaps just a mix-n-match pipe put together from availble parts at the shop. :shrug:



 
I'll go you one better . . . Check out the Briarcraft seconds "Airo" and "Cavalcade". Both of these have the horizontal yellow diamond, just like the Sachs and this pipe. Looks like this is definitely a Briarcraft of some type.

Thanks for the great research, Mr. E! I've sent the pictures of the pipe to pipephil. Maybe it's a heretofore undocumented Briarcraft specimen? I'll post any response they send me.
 
Yes, tha Airo and Cavalcade both seem to have the stem logo identical to yours. Awesome, a previously undicovered species! :cheers:
 
Pipephil concurs that its a Briarcraft second. I told him that he could post the photos if he wants to. Hope he does . . .
 
Looks like a stem and shank mismatch to me. The stem diameter appears wider than the shank, which is usually the exact opposite particularly on estate pipes which have had their stems over-buffed. Just looks weird to me.

Does look like a Briarcraft though.
