Yikes...Rion RE 100 will do 70 mph and they're putting out a new battery that'll push it to 100 mph.
 
I feel the same way about toilets
Actually, now that I qualify for the age 75+ discounts, a toilet seat would be perfect for me on the Outstorm Maxx. It would save me from crapping my drawers once I hit 25 mph.
I wonder how these will be policed. Most of the scooters, particularly hourly rentals, max out at 15-20 mph and most you can purchase at 28 mph, max. How's a cop to know that an old guy sittin' on a scooter could peel away at 56 mph?
 
If the battery is removable for charging, I'd like to get an extra. I think they're about 8 lbs. I'd carry it with me if I were planning to go more than 67 miles.
 
Sounds totally insane to me as well. Been riding motorcycles for over 50 years now. But the idea of going 60 or 70 mph on a scooter scares the hell out of me.
