Interesting Choice of Photos

I came across a post on FB about a book published with colorized pictures from the early 1900's. Though it was interesting that two of the photos included pipe smokers. You may want to save them and blow them up and try to identify the pipes.

This is interesting. Ol Alber there looks a little .... ahem.. light in the socks.

A long time ago, on this or maybe the ol' Knox board; the second picture was discussed at great length as to the pipe being smoked. I remember the picture, don't remember if we ever reached consensus as to the pipe!!! FTRPLT

I think this is the photo of Einstein’s desk after he died. I’m sure he many pipes and has one in hand in about half of his pictures. One thing I do not remember is seeing a pipe stand, guess they just went into the drawer.

That looks a lot like a bottle of Sheaffer Skrip on his desk. The bottle with the built in ink well.
