yowzers, better leave off the high heels and skirt before lighting up a bowl of this toebacky

Nice flavor but towards the end of the bowl gained much strength

Tried it when it came out. Not bad but to much work for a one dimensional plain Va. There's better out there. JMHO

Triple Play is good stuff. JKP I still haven't tried. Didn't find Triple Play to be terribly strong though.

It was definitely higher in the N department for me altho I have to admit I rubbed out more than my pipe would hold smoked about half a bowl and then added what was left to make the bowl full again, so maybe I over indulged, but anyways I was mostly speaking of the strength of it's flavor, it was nice and smooth at the beginning , but towards the end of the bowl the flavor was very strong for me, again maybe due to the fact I added to the bowl after smoking about half, don't know for sure but I am willing to try it again!

Like many blends being rushed to meet demands they need to age. After reading the reviews on JK I knew it needed a year. It's a great smoke and not having access to many plugs like the Europeans it's a nice change of pace in preparation and smoking. Found a tin at the local B&M dated 3/13 so it should be ready when I finish this off.

I too enjoy the Jack Knife Plug, but I agree with Craig -- like all of Greg Pease's stuff, it needs a year or two to get into it's own.

I'm not a nicotine wimp, but I smoke JKP on a full stomach and with a sweet drink as it can sucker punch me otherwise.  Prepared correctly, plugs pack a lot more flavor and offer a much longer smoke than other cuts -- which is why I usually smoke plugs in a smaller bowl.

Popular in Europe, particularly in the UK, plugs are uncommon on this side of the pond, which is unfortunate.  I think it's because plugs take a lot more work for the smoker to prepare the plug correctly, thus most manufacturers feel Americans won't buy plugs -- too much trouble for us LOL.

Frankly I never found this to be a HO blend.
I agree with Brewdude. Nothing extra with this one.

Absolutely Monbla. Like Peterson's Perfection Plug. :D
My not so humble opinion :lol!:

Oh the tine date was 5/12

I would agree it did seem one dimensional, but when I first lit up the toebacky, I thought it had a good clean taste, a little sweet and kind of deep nuttiness, I liked it but then that slowly faded into a strong cigar like a triple fermented Ligero type

I have some original release JKP that just kicks my ass. I've been adding a pinch to some other
blends that are too wimpy for me and don't smoke it alone.

I tend to smoke fresher tins of it when ever I have the chance to smoke it so I don't really know what it is like aged well, I had an older tin a good while back but the seal must have gone on the tin because it was as dry as a bone and smoked horribly, I love that smoky scent from the tin just wish it tasted as good as it smells. I have found it to be a little coarse on the throat but then I inhale. Most Va's I find too mellow for my taste, I like a good smack in the head from Lady-N myself, I'd class JKP as a Medium strength at best in that department. Having said all of that I must say I do rather enjoy JKP but it is too darn cosy over here, at $31 for 2oz it really is far too expensive but then what tobacco here isn't.

Now Triple Play, man that stuff is just out of this World, I had the pleasure of a tin of that a while back from a member here as it goes, that was the most amazing smoke I had tried at the time, blew my mind, we don't get it here which is a real shame, I'd sprng the $31 for a tin at Xmas that's for sure, very nice little treat that would be.

I'm with BigCasino on this one. I tried it a few weeks at JB Hayes in VA, an open tin. I like single-flavor VA's (OGS, etc.) and enjoy the one bowl I had in the shop. This is a tiny shop, crammed with cigar smokers on a Friday evening. This was the last pipe I smoked and when I walked out of the shop and hit fresh air, it hit me that this one has a big of a wallop. They were out of stock, but John promised to have some tins on my next visit. I'll pick up a few, guessing it ages well.

IMO all of Greg Pease's blends improve with age -- a year or two, all his blends improve considerably.

Tried one bowl of JKP last summer. Knocked me on my azz!!!!!! It's sittin' in a jar 'til next summer!!!!!!  FTRPLT
