Worked on this one last night, got it into smoking condition. Orlik Corona straight bulldog:

Before:

Could not get the stem to go in all the way, very tight.

Too bad the previous guy dinged it up but we can fix the rest:

Stem was pretty gross.

But now she's looking better!

Nice grain

Got a reaming:

Hey, the circle on the stem is brass! (that was a surprise)

I'll fire it up today if I decide on what to smoke in it. My other bulldogs are VA/Vaper pipes, maybe I'll go burley blends on this one...

Nice resurrection. Nice 'dog. Love how the shank tapers, as opposed to just having parallel lines--know what I mean?

It looks to be an old pipe. It's probably made with old quality briar which should make it a fine smoker providing the engineering is correct and I'd bet it's spot on. BTW the refurb job looks great. :)

Thanks guys. Feels great in the hand but I still don't know how it smokes. Maybe tonight. Have too many pipes for how often I smoke!

Nice save!

MAN, do I love a good bulldog - my favorite shape, by far.

Well I fired her up today. Fantastic smoker, feels great and smokes well.

Received my first bit of Esoterica tobacco today (4oz Stonehaven) so that's what the first smoke was. Underwhelming in a word but that may change. Sometimes is takes awhile to appreciate a blend.
