Peterson Silver Spigot vs. Royal Irish

I am really jonesing for one of these, but I have not so much as seen one in person. Both have silver bands on both the mortise and the tenon, but I do not know if they function the same or if the silver is purely cosmetic on the Royal. Does anyone have any closeup pictures of the mortise/tenon area, together and separated, they could post? Any experience positive or negative with either of these two lines?
