I have recently purchased a Peterson System pipe (Standard 302). I have a few questions. Does the moisture that collects in the trap harm the briar? Every time after smoking there is a slight pool and I dab it out with a Q-tip, I know I should let the pipe cool and while it is not warm to the touch I do not know what is worse; removing the stem shortly after smoking or letting the moisture sit for a while. I have also noticed on a cold draw that the funky tobacco moisture smell is still there from the previous smoke (about a day prior) should I use some grain alcohol to clean the trap? The pipe smokes very well but cleaning involves a bit more than my other pipes and I want to be sure I am doing it the right way.
