Need some help for a friend to identify a pipe that was handed down frm his grandpa. I will upload pics later, but it looks to be a Canadian style with a L in a circle on the stem. On the bottom, you can still see 9457 stamped and what looks like a d's (the rest of the word is faded). Any guesses before I post photos?

That was my first impression, but the cursive text has me questioning this.
 
The script writing d's looks like the last couple of letters on the Edward's logo but I don't know what the circled L would be. Since edward's didn't/doesn't make their own pipes (outsourced them) maybe it indicates the company that was making them for edward's at that time. Thats my best guess. oh yeah and holy giant pictures batman.
 
Could be a LLoyds, or Leanord's. MIKE

I believe Edwards makes there pipes in Tampa FL. great pipes IMHO
