Hi all, with the price of stem stock going through the roof I have been looking for less expensive suitable materials , My question is has anybody ever worked with a.b.s.????? If so how is it anddo u like it . Thanx Bob Clark

Hi Bob. I've worked with ABS and find it much more difficult to rough shape. It overheats easily and melts with any type of power sanding. On the positive side, it does drill like butter (similar to Delrin.) It is also very durable. It's fairly easy to work with rasps, files and hand sanding. It's just getting it rough shaped that's a bugger. The finish is also a bit more dull than acrylic or ebonite but not by much. I can send you some if you want to try it out.
