I've a Bjarne Viking that has a plastic chrome band on it. It looks fancy enough when shiny, but now it's older and looks bad, and I'd like to repaint it. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Or, are there tips on possibly putting a nicer band on it? Where do I find one, how do I go about accomplishing it, etc.?

I've never refinished anything on a pipe. This isn't the best smoker in the world, but it does well for my English blends and I'm okay with working on it.

I don't have any idea how involved it is to put a silver band on a pipe but if it's a pipe you really like then you might consider sending it to Walker's and have him put a nice sterling silver band on it for you. I've had him dress up a few pipes for me and he does some very nice work. :)
