Porsche 911 Designer Dies

Ferdinand Porsche died today, age 76. The originator of the 911 design that became so iconic among sports car afficionados, and a design that has survived recognizeably to the present day.

I've always had a love affair with Porsches dating back to my childhood. Friends had Lambo Countach and Ferrari posters in their bedrooms, I had 944's and 911's.

Time for me to load up a pipe and thank F.A. for his inspiration and beautiful design.

For six decades, Porsche 911's have always had an instantly recognizable silhouette. Can't say the same for the Italian makes.
The Porsch is just iconic.
