Savinelli Bing/Clark

Been doing a lot of reading and searching about pipes, with the aim of picking up a better pipe for myself, since it looks like I'm sticking with this hobby.
Based on my favorite pipe being a MM Elf Cobbit (7.5" long) I think I just prefer a longer pipe for a cooler smoke. It seems to make a big difference.
So I'm looking at the Savinelli Bings and Clark's. The Clark is the same length as the Elf, but some comments say it's too small. The Bing is shorter (6.3") but looks nicer and has a larger bowl.
Anyone care to share any observations on their own experiences?
I know the right answer is probably "get both", lol.

I have one Bing; it smokes very well. I use it for Burley and flakes. FWIW, FTRPLT

Depends what you put in ‘em to smoke. Those smaller bowls are good for those spunky Gawaith powerhouse flakes, ropes, etc.

Oddly enough, I checked the bowl measurements, and both the Bing and Clark are the same as the Cobbit!

I ordered my Bing a few days ago, from P&C. It's been delivered, but I'm not home until tomorrow, dagnabbit!

I have a Bing that I use for VAs. Great pipe if I must say so. The Clark is on my shopping list for this year.

I have had a big on my shopping list for some time now. I got a Bruno Nuttens Heritage Bing instead but still planning on getting a Savinelli Bing at some point.

My Bing arrived in the mail this week! Took it out for its maiden voyage yesterday, and it was good! I had to immediately switch to a MM cob because I was working outside and didn't want to scratch it up on day 1. Hopefully I'll be able to try it some more later today.

About how thin is the stem on the Bing? I've been really liking the real thin stems lately.

The narrowest point is 11 or 12mm. The stummel is about 14. The lip widens to 15. Just smoked one, so all I had to do was grab a ruler.

I have a Sav Bing, a prized possession and great smoker but recently purchased the new Country Squire Bing cob by MM, it's a great pipe if your interested in a Bing but are on the fence about cost. For me ,it's also about feeding my pipe addiction "jones".
