Is their such a thing as a smoke friendly establishment. Like coffee houses, or something along those lines. More specifically Seattle Washington.

I don't know about Washington, but in California, the only "smoke friendly" establishments are "Indian casinos" and actual cigar/pipe shop lounges. Quite sad really. Have we fallen so far?

Coincidentally, I just posted this in another topic a few minutes ago. Ignore the part about the cats...

"I've always wished I was born in an era where a man could walk into a classy joint, sit down with friends, light up a cigar or pipe with a glass of whisky, Scotch or rum, enjoy a perfectly prepared ribeye with potatoes (maybe some asparagus) and converse the evening away. Too bad such places are extinct or headed that way. Oh, and I have cats, not kittens, but you're welcome to them if I get home and they've shredded my copy of True West magazine again."

Several years ago a friend told me about a private club somewhere in downtown Seattle. However I remember it sounded somewhat expensive. I can find out if it's still going if you'd like.

Beyond that, no. Unless you go down to the Rez in Fife and visit Smoky Joe's.

Cheers,

RR

Ya im in down town all the time. And the only place you can smoke is in the middle of the streets. So if you had any info on that. It would be much obliged.

Not-specifically-in-your-area...

But, there are a few bars around me, here in the boonies of NY, that still couldn't care less if you smoke a cigar, cigarette, or pipe. They even offer you an ash tray when you pull out your pipe and matches...

I would love to get a list of good places like that to go to... although, I'm sure the New York State Department of Health would love to get that list, as well.

*sigh*

I live in NC where tobacco is what put it on the map and you can't smoke anywhere unless it's in a grandfathered in cigar bar or at the tobacconist shop. Had you told me it would be like this twenty years ago I would have called you an idiot. lol

I have thought of someday opening my own coffee shop. Ideally it would have a back pation where I could allow smoking, or at least host a pipe and cigar smoking club once each week. I think most states are going the way of private clubs being the only places that may allow smoking, and an extablishment will have to close to the public and host a private club to allow it.

I think the idea of a coffee shop hosting a pipe club weekly sounds wonderful!

What's this smoke friendly establishment you speak of? Surely it's a myth in the same vein as Atlantis.

Do this in northeast Ohio, and you have a customer for life!

Yes hard to find anywhere where smoking ands socializing with others can happen.

I think often how nice it would be to have such a place. I though about finding some land and setting up like a camp ground with a lodge type enviroment where folks could get away, kinda like pipe camp.

Have a tobacco shop, sell pipes, tobacco offer repairs, pipes on consignment etc ,in a main lodge building also a cafe to eat/coffee and small cabins for visitors, ( close enough to a town for other dining/lodging options and such)

Like a retreat where folks could go gather your thoughts enjoy some peace and quite and socialize with like minded people, fellow pipe enthusiast.

I though about a coffee house/ tobacco shop been researching local ordinaces anti smoking rules etc, how to get around them

Figured a privately run camp ground I could have my own rules smoke anywhere on the premises.
