So I'm a Burley guy... what does that mean?

I've tried a lot of different tobaccos since I started using a pipe last December, probably close to 20. Most of them I don't like, but the ones I do like have a common thread - Burley.

So... what does it mean to be a Burley guy? What recommendations does the community have for me?

I'm liking various types of Burley including Lane and Peretti. Experimenting with blending em with Virginia and some Lat or Turkish.

Hi, I really like burley’s as well. Probably my favorite tobacco so far is Mac Baren HH Burley Flake. It’s a VaBur. I rub a flake out real good and let it dry about 2-3 hours before packing my pipe. University Flake is another real good VaBur, but I like the HH a little better.

I agree on how wonderful storm front is. It’s in my normal rotation, and it’s also one of my favorites.

I enjoy burley tobacco also. There are a lot listed in the previous posts. I agree with Blackhorse, the John
Patton blends are very good, Moe's Confetti is another good one.

I'm a Virginia smoker but I believe John wrote the Corncob Primer on pipedia.org which was my goto when exploring cobs. Another source is LJ Peretti's, a tobacconist friend swears by BPC (Burley Plug Cut).
