Tell us about this freehand with lovely antler stem, and maybe a few more shots?
Those shots are pretty good for an amatuer! I can not seem to get the flash right on my point & shoot. Might have to try with my wife's good Canon digital SLR
That one was posted by someone else, I can't remember who. As far as using the flash goes, I try to avoid it. Flash photography tends to distort the actual colors of the pipe, and sometimes looks kind of harsh. Diffused natural light works best for me.

I really never seen such beautifull grain on a stanwell ~~
Yes, and the Stanwell has a finish similar to Tom Eltang's "golden contrast", so I call it a poor man's Eltang.
The finish does bring out the grain nicely.

Great pipes and great photography. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
Taking photos of pipes has been a learning process, and a lot of fun.

I love that Charatan. I've always loved their double comfort stems. When I get to carving halfway decently; I want to make a DC Stem in acrylic. I've owned a few Charatans and that DC Stem is really comfortable to bite down on. I also have a few Benwades in the same Charatan styles, and they are also just as comfortable, but have a simple vulcanite stem without the double drop down bit.

All wonderful pipes indeed, I just love that birdeye grain on that Stanwell...very nice!

Thanks guys!
That Stanwell is still a favorite. Those pics are some of the earliest pipe photos I had taken, and the grain on the Stanwell is one of the things that really kick started the collecting bug for me, as well as the photo hobby.

Harlock very nice pics.

It is nice to have a peak at other's pipe collections (read pipe porn) and from those few pics I am sure it must be an impressive collection. I am a fan of the Charatan myself but all three are quality!!
