[Star Trek] #BringInRiker campaign

Have any of you guys heard about the grassroots hashtag (#BringInRiker) campaign on both twitter and facebook to get Jonathan Frakes (aka Commander Riker) to direct the next Star Trek movie? It seems to be picking up speed as various sites are running the articles on it. Some Star Trek alumni are in support of it. Frakes himself has even commented on it saying he has talked to JJ Abrams about it and his agent is reaching out to Paramount.

Anyways, what's your thoughts? He did a stand up job when he directed First Contact, and really understands the franchise.

Hmm not sure how I feel about that. I did like the most recent ones as they were different. I enjoyed most of the Star Trek movies except insurrection. I found it quite boring compared to the others. I will still watch it when watching them in order.
