:::ATTENTION ALL PILOTS:::
Ladies and gentlemen it is time for the February BOB bombing run. Put on those aviators and fuel those jets, because of this month is going to be special indeed.
I must admit I’m a little upset that someone appointed a groundhog with a name as ridiculous as Punxsutawney Phil the de facto weather Oracle of the United States. Granted, with the polar vortex and whatnot, I suppose the rodent’s prediction was accurate, so we must do what we can to survive the coming cold. Of course we should never neglect our neighbors, so this month some lucky chap will be the recipient of our collective malice toward the Pudgy Portent of Punxsutawney.
The theme this month will be “surviving the winter.” Please include any items you feel are absolutely necessary to survive frigid temperatures such as gloves, wool socks, a nip of brandy, that ridiculous beanie with ears, and of course your favorite wintertime pipe tobacco. Other possible items could include something that reminds you of the winter season. For me it’s maple syrup and mild English blends.
Remember if you would like to participate in this month’s bombing run respond in this thread with your intent. Do not PM me.
Orders should be dispatched shortly, and as soon as your bomb is in the air make sure you send me your tracking number via PM.
In other news:
Now that 2014 is in full swing (I hope you’ve stopped writing 2013 on your dates) it’s time to breathe some new life into the bombing missions. With gravel’s departure I find myself in need of an assistant commander. This individual will help me organize the bombing runs, come up with theme ideas for each run, help me select targets, gathered DC numbers on his designated month, keep the official bombing roster up-to-date, and answer questions from pilots. I know it sounds like a lot of work but the time commitment is probably one to four hours per month.
To those interested, please send me a private message explaining why it is you want to be co-commander and some ideas you have for the next bombing run. The only requirement is that you be a BOB bombing member in good standing for at least 4 consecutive months.
