Baki, african gourd, block meerschaum calabash. This is the last pipe I will ever buy.

I will buy no more pipes. I need no more pipes. I have enough pipes. This is the last pipe I needed to buy.

I have the right amount of pipes. Another pipe would make me unhappy. I have no more room for another pipe.

I won't look at any more pipes. I don't need to look at any more pipes. I have all the pipes I'll ever need.

No need to look at any more evil pipes. Evil pipes that talk to me. Evil pipes that drain my wallet.

I will buy no more,,,,,,,

Don't worry! You can still look at and buy pipes, you don't need to stop just because YOU don't have any more room or need or want any more pipes. You can just look, buy, and then give them to me! I have plenty of room and still need and want more pipes!

just keep telling yourself that...
hasn't worked for me yet.

You can never have too many pipes or too much tobacco -- just not enough time!

Oh good!
Now Mark can keep us updated on all the happenings in the non-pipe "real" world.
Just in time too, for I haven't bathed, shaved or left the house since I discovered pipe forums and online etailers.
Hey Mark, let me know if all the "kids" are still shopping at the Gap, and how all that promised "change" went over in Washington. Like gangbusters, I'm sure...

Ya that's what I said about 20 pipes ago. If you want I have a phone number of someone you can call for help. :lol!:

Thanks a lot Tim,,,,You've torn down my wall of logic,,,,

Don't get discouraged Mark it can be done! I stopped my PAD just last month. It is a hard thing to do, you know - so many pipes out there just waiting to be loved and smoked but it can be done. Oh, I did have to make one exception last night when I spotted a beautiful Cacicchi bent Apple on ebay, but that really did'nt count, it was an unsmoked 1998 Cavicch after all! Good Luck!!

P.S.
Smokingpipes.com just got some new pipe racks that look pretty good.

That is one of the ground rules of PAD...exceptions never count. (Article 14, section C subsection 82)

I have ~50 pipes. I think it's helpful, to a certain extent, to have more pipes that I really need. What do you do when you want to smoke a certain tobacco but all the pipes you reach for have been pressed into service for other tobaccos? What do you do when you decide that you want to smoke 3 or 4 group 6 pipes in a row and want to give them sufficient rest, and you want to smoke another of that size?

You lean on another pipe that you haven't used in awhile.

To use another idea, I'm not so sure that dedicating pipes to a given tobacco genre and abiding by that is as necessary as I used to think it was. Sure, I'd rather be a purist, but sometimes I do abandon that practice and still get a good smoke.

I know what you mean. It boxes you in a little and can take away from simple enjoyment. It is nice to have a fresh one handy if I am trying a new blend though. A new tobacco in a ghosted pipe is like trying a new single malt in the glass you had diet coke in....LOL!
