Looks like you and I were influenced by many of the same bands back in the day, John.

The very first big concert I ever went to when I was 16 or 17 was Iron Butterfly, and they opened with "In The Time Of Our Lives". Their new album "Ball" had just come out, on the heels of Gadda-Da-Vita. I was a total IB devotee back then.

I literally had front row seats for this concert, and was about 20' from Erik Brann. And that's a story for another day! Memorable concert.

And "Incense and Peppermints" has always been one of my fave 60's psychedelic top-40 tunes. In fact I've always had it in mind to record a cover version of this. 

Plus the Prunes, Amboy Dukes, etc. All tremendous influences on me as a budding picker back in the day. Love it, and thanks for the posts.

My Dad had a reel to reel he brought back from overseas. I had one tape, "Ball". He hated that tape, so naturally I played it all the time. :)

BTW, the Max Frost song was from "Wild in the Streets". :)
 
Wow, I'm having a flashback!

Thanks guys, this is saving me a ton of money, and possible jail time!

If I could post a video from my phone it would be Lake Street Dive's "Go down smooth". Rachel brought the house down tonight at Bell's and left it all on stage. Best show I've seen in ages.
