I am new here and have seen the term B & M mentioned and would like to know what it means. Thank you.

There is a list of commonly used acronyms somewhere and my search-fu is inadequate to the task of finding it. Maybe someone else will post a link.

5100 - McClelland 5100, a red VA blend
1Q - Lane's 1Q Bulk Aromatic Tobacco
ABF - Solani Aged Burley Flake
Aro - Referring to any aromatic tobacco blend
B&B - Cornell & Diehl Big 'n' Burley
BB - Gawith & Hoggarth Brown Bogie (not so much for shooting out of a Daisy-brand product)
BBBB - Dan Bill Bailey's Balkan Blend
BBF - Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake (not the acronym you find in Craigslist personals ads, no sir)
BCA - Lane's "BCA" - A vanilla Cavendish-based aromatic (go figure).
BCAQ - A mix of Lane's "1Q" and "BCA," incidentally.

LAD - Lighter Acquisition Disorder: why have one when you can have 100?
PAD - Pipe Acquisition Disorder: A serious disorder affecting many BoB members. Highly contagious.
TAD - Tobacco Acquisition Disorder: Another serious disorder affecting many BoB members. Also contagious
TGD/PGD - Tobacco/Pipe GIVING Disorder: Evil doers that shamefully gift things, sometimes quite randomly, to other BoB members. Called "bombing," it's the neatest war on the planet.

No, I like cats. I got the name when I worked at Caterpillar inc. and was sort of the guy people would come to for gun info or buy, sell and trades.

Hey. As a matter of form, I will bring it to our attention that there's an attribution thing missing: I think a tip o' the hat is due to the creator of that list, Mr. Kyle Weiss, whom some of you may have heard of.

I wonder if the list should be a sticky somewhere with credit to Kyle? I thought it was already and came up empty. I figured I was looking in the wrong place.

I am glad Cart posted it. I remember being a little befuddled with some of the acronyms when I arrived. BoB was my first experience with the online pipe smoking community.
 
I think Kyle copied quite a bit of it himself. A compilation of other sources maybe :scratch:

Anyway since he was brought up, There's one more acronymy type do hickey.

Eff you kyle = Kyle crawled out from under his meh rock to come try to rattle cages.

Confident that I had searched "acronym" and "abbreviation" both with no results, I tried it now and got Kyle's guide both times. It is a mystery and maybe I misspelled both words when I searched. It could happen, but I feel like an idiot suggesting my spelling is that bad.
