I'm amazed at how similar the music tastes of the Brothers (and Sisters!) are!

So, I thought id ask, any fans of Townes Van Zandt on BoB? Townes is one of my favorite (and most tragic, unfortunately) singers, and truly one of the greatest songwriters to walk this earth.

Please post favorite songs/videos if you like Townes (I'm a little too tired to post links at the moment).

May Townes' troubled soul rest in peace, and best wishes everyone!

I love Townes Van Zandt.

Here's a few favorites. His voice just has so much character.

Playing a great version of nine pound hammer:

No place to fall:

Waiting around to die:

Big fan here as well, great songwriter to say the least. Steve Earle recently put out a tribute cd of Townes songs, excellent cd.

Funny you mention Steve's tribute CD (which I've listened to too many times to count in the last month lol), I was listening to it while I wrote the thread. His covers are truly a wonderful tribute to Townes.

Actually, I'm listening to his CD right now too lol.

Nothing "funny" at all, we're all connected, it must be the smoke...

Did a search to see if there were any other BoB Townes van Zandt fans. Glad to see a few. I caught his act several times in the late 80s and early 90s in dive bars around the Northeast. Got to talk with after he played for about 6 of us who braved a blizzard to catch his act at Johnny D's in Sommerville, MA.
