Why are some postings here so WIDE?

Topics that take up a great deal of horizontal real estate do so because one of the posts has an element in it that can't be broken up between lines. Usually, this is either a very wide picture or a URL (which has no spaces in it, and thus appears to be one long "word.")

Posts with a great deal of vertical whitespace are caused by verbose profile information posting. It's hard to pick just one favorite pipe and tobacco!
