I don't know how many hockey fans we've got here. I'd hoped for a settlement over the holidays. Anyone have any thoughts/hopes/opinions on the lockout?

I've got a bad feeling that by the time the paperwork settles it might be too late.

Starting to look like it, isn't it? Seems like every time they look like they're close to an agreement, it all goes to hell.
Who's your team, Mark?

I don't follow NHL closely, but I love the SJ sharks.

Bruins

Well there's another proposal on the table and discussions are set for this week. Both sides are playing ping pong with it but I hope they come to their senses and settle so we can at least salvage something out of this season. I really don't know what they are thinking, I mean can the NHL really stand to take another black eye?

I'm a life long die hard bleed blue Rangers fan (watch every Rangers game and many other teams' as well thanks to Directv and the NHL Center Ice package) and this is a real drag. Sure, the true fans will return but commercially and economically this is a disaster.

If there's a playoff this year i'll watch but otherwise the longer they take the quicker i'm losing interest. Players & owners are both overpaid. They should get into the real work force for a while & they would appriciate what they have.

Oilers fan... love those first picks

Actually I'm into Fantasy Hockey. I was into two leagues last year (the Comish of one). I was planning to start another league this season but....

a half-season barely gets you settled in...

Unfortunately IMHO this years season is done. I hope they recover their fan base when this is all over. I know both baseball and basketball suffered after their so called lock outs/strikes. I miss watching hockey.

Go Coyotes

We'll see. A 48 game season hardly feels like it's worth a playoff. On the other hand, I went out last night and watched the K-Wings (the local ECHL team) beat Evansville 7-3. Good game, but not the same.
Big time Detroit Red Wings fan, here.

Penguin fan here of course..., Sorry our teams wont meet this year George, oh well at least you wont have to hear me talk about how well the Pens dominated the ice for a victory over those red wings!

I doubt I'd hear much of that anyway. ;)
Hell, with all the teams stuck in their own conferences for the season, we can talk all kinds of east/west smack with no resolution 'til 2014. It's a hockey fan's dream!

I knew I was in good company when I saw George's profile pic! Sad to see Lidstrom retire
