When I started trying to learn how to light fires in little wooden bowls (that did not catch on fire....twilight zone!) I went to youtube to see what I could find about pipes and the like. Thus, I discovered the you-tube instructors/ reviewers etc. People like Dubindam and Pipe Friend CHS and 1968eric. I mentioned those three because their video posts helped me the most get my bearings in the pipey sub-culture of pipes. I was wondering who your favorites are of those youtube pipe folks?
 
I watch pipefriend's stuff, dubinthedam, VSL's videos, and Joffre the Giant. I think I like dubinthedam the best. I have put up a few videos, and plan to do some more with tips for newbies.
 
I follow about 30 pipe peeps on YouTube. PipefriendCHS, Joffre the Giant, VSLDavid, 1968eric, SmokeRingsPipeDreams, pipelawyer, orchestralpipe, puffpuffponder, rehfeldttw, etc... But my favorite is Milverton68.
 
I don't watch youtube pipe videos anymore.... you never know when you're going to stumble upon what can only be described as "gay pipe porn". Which, if you're into that kind of stuff is fine by me, just not my cup o tea.
 
One of my favorites is "One Man Smoke" from Kentucky. He's got some well thought out vids and great production. He got a new camera awhile back and it makes a difference in the finished product.

I also enjoy Jake Hackert Pipes and Balkovec Pipes. Two awesome American pipe makers with reasonable prices.

Others I have been enjoying for awhile include Dub in the Dam, Charred Briar, Milverton68, PipefriendCHS, Pipescratch, SmokeRingsPipeDreams, ToBaCCoRow, trimbletobacco, VirginiaPipeSmoker, VSLDavid, WikingPipe545, and dighsx.

I also enjoy Ralfy Mitchell's channel "Ralfystuff" where he does great reviews on Single Malt Whiskys, Bourbons, Rums, and recently Cuban and non-Cuban cigars.

Yeah, it seems as though there's a subculture in pipe smoking of gay pipe smokers. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't like the feeling that I need to tread lightly while e-piping.
 
I've pretty much learned how to smoke from PipeFriendCHS, and also from a handy website called Pipedia (the wikipedia of pipes). I also like DubintheDam's videos.

After many complaints, a lot of those videos have been listed as "mature" and you have to verify your age to view them. If you open a video and it asks for your age, it's a gay fetish video.............be forewarned. :suspect:
 
Well I must have stopped watching pipe videos before that happened because when I saw them there was no warning.
 
Never ran across any of "those" pipe vids. The ones that bugged me the most were the videos where the guy starts talking, then realizes that the pipe he/she is talking about is in the other room. They then get up to go fetch it, while the camera is still on. Who starts making a video so poorly prepared? Wouldn't that be the first thing you checked? "Let's see, gonna make a pipe video today, so I got the camera, check, tripod, check, music playing in the background, check, lucky t-shirt, check. Yeah, I think that's it...oh wait, I forgot the pipe!" :?: I like that RequiemPipes actually wears a suit and tie, and projects a persona other than "pipe smoking slacker with a video camera". AmaneMisaMisa666 is also kind of interesting. She's strangely alluring...

I've enjoyed your videos in the past but you stopped makin' 'em. Saw yesterday that it was the dastardly cigarette.

Wow...well I guess I know have more people to check out. And I have never had an issue with videos that open with bad music that sounds reminiscent of 70's Herbie Hancock.........

lol I Always thought the same thing,and I am not sure why but I would bet 99% of the time there is a leather vest and the biggest boswell you ever saw. I also would say not my cup of tea, but to each there own. ps added note there are good videos on there watch myself just wanted to say (gay pipe porn) was funny to me,its like the elephant in the room that no one talks about. :lol:
