I'd second KevinM's recommendations for Pipeworks & Wilke Rumcake, Vermont Maple or 191. Three of my favorite aromatics and super-light casing.

The cotton balls will also keep the alcohol from boiling over the rim of the bowl if you get a little overzealous with the amount of alcohol and not removing the bulb from the heat quickly enough once it starts to flow into the pipe. Depending on the pipe of course, if that boiling alcohol...

It's likely a Cesare and you'd be correct to believe that it's a seconds brand. It's Cesare as in Cesare Barontini. The Barontini line would be the better or first quality.

DogfishHead Brewery makes a small batch Brown Wild Flower Honey Rum that is sublime. It can be difficult to find, but when I do, I leave the store shelf barren. Preferred straight up in a double-old fashioned glass.
