Thanks for the suggestions. When it comes to Meerschaum pipes I avoid estate pipes. I don't know if this is a myth, but I have heard that many pipe makers in the past used asbestos in the making of meers that are not carved from block. Again, I'm not sure if that is a myth, but it is not far...

Does anyone know of a reputable pipe maker and/or E-tailer who would have calabash pipes in stock regularly? I am looking for one with a real gourd and a Meerschaum bowl. I would rather avoid the Butz-Choquin that's out there just because the mouthpiece is too long.

I thought the same thing, but didn't want to say anything to avoid influencing the answers. Now that you popped the lid, I am curious as well.

Just curious as to what's the most popular. I know both have pros and cons, I just want to see where the majority stands.
