Sorry, but the new dunhills are junk

Ok, so, I'm looking at instructions on how to post pictures and it looks like I have to create some account with some public hosting site. Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to...

Sorry, but the new dunhills are junk

LOL OK, I will figure out how to post pictures here and will do so. No later than tomorrow night you will have pictures. To clarify another topic: My wife has no clue what I think of the pipe. To her knowledge, it is the best pipe in my collection. The gesture is worth a lot, and I would never...

Sorry, but the new dunhills are junk

Well, OK, as long as you attack the argument and not the person, I am more than happy to talk about the pipe, especially when you insult me without knowing a thing about me... If you have nothing to say about THE ARGUMENT and resort to attacking the person, then you kinda lost respect and shows...

Sorry, but the new dunhills are junk

OK, I figure "fan boys" won't like to hear that Dunhills suck. Sorry to hear no one loves you enough to buy you even a corn cob pipe

Sorry, but the new dunhills are junk

Well, I understand everyone has different tastes, and no problem if you like the new dunhills (or white spot or whatever) - However: 1.- When I pay 400+ for a new pipe, I expect quality control, either for a factory pipe or hand made. 2.- Grain or not, I do not expect pits and fills, there is...

Sorry, but the new dunhills are junk

The title says it all. I have two of them, they are great. Perfect fit and finish... Just received one as a gift and: 1.- Finish is crap, reminds me of a cheap grabow 2.- Grain is mediocre, at best. 3.- Fit is poor, made by a moron 4.- hole is not centered. I thought perhaps I got a fluke...

    1901 BBB Billiard

Wow, now that is a pipe with history AND a story. It's cool to just think about it. I mean, the pipe was made 112 years ago! Someone had a block of briar 112 years ago, carved it, and probably never thought it would still exist 112 years later and owned by someone who was not to be born for some...

    The Truth About Cake...

I have noticed the brittle cake only in two pipes I have dedicated to aromatics, so I wonder if the syrups/casings are to blame. I really haven't had any trouble with the wood being charred. After you smoke that pipe so long it just gets cake everywhere. With other non-aromatic blends, I get a...

    Looking for a Calabash

Thanks for the suggestions. When it comes to Meerschaum pipes I avoid estate pipes. I don't know if this is a myth, but I have heard that many pipe makers in the past used asbestos in the making of meers that are not carved from block. Again, I'm not sure if that is a myth, but it is not far...

    Looking for a Calabash

Does anyone know of a reputable pipe maker and/or E-tailer who would have calabash pipes in stock regularly? I am looking for one with a real gourd and a Meerschaum bowl. I would rather avoid the Butz-Choquin that's out there just because the mouthpiece is too long.

    Poll - Lighter or Matches

I thought the same thing, but didn't want to say anything to avoid influencing the answers. Now that you popped the lid, I am curious as well.

    Poll - Lighter or Matches

Just curious as to what's the most popular. I know both have pros and cons, I just want to see where the majority stands.
