    What are you blending?

Also, I find that when I'm really in the mood for a Vitamin-N kick, nothing quite hits the spot like a 50/50 mix of Peterson's Irish Flake and JackKnife Plug!

    What are you blending?

Sounds great. I'll have to whip up a batch of that myself.

    A dedicated thread for BLENDING?

I've added a couple of links to blending tobaccos. Copy-able links: Websites for more info on blending http://www.tobaccoblending.com/tobacco_blending_hybrid_blends.htm http://pipesmokemag.com/0697/feature.htm https://www.brothersofbriar.com/t3618-kilted1-s-blends...

Home Blending for the Admitted Amateur

I know this is an old thread, but it is now relevant for me. I, too, have been blending at home and have had moderate success. One area that still escapes me is similar to that of the OP - orientals. I ordered Turkish Ribbon from Pipes and Cigars. I am not dissatisfied with it, but it is not...

How often do you remove the stem?

I was just wondering what everyone does post-smoke as far as removing the stem from the pipe. Do you: 1. break down the pipe (after it cools, of course) and remove the stem to clean the mortise and stem 2. Just run a pipe cleaner through the assembled pipe and then remove it 3. Run a pipe...

    What are you smoking?

Earlier it was Irish Flake in a Lane Prince for the commute to work. Peterson's irish Flake in an Eriksen for lunch. Frog Morton in a Grabow for the ride home.

    What are you smoking?

Prince Albert in a Grabow Grand Duke which used to smoke hot, but after sanding off the laquer it smokes quite well.

The Mysteries of the Briar Break-in Process

Interesting. I know, for instance, that out of my 20 pipes (half of which are Dr. Grabows) one of the best smoking ones is a $20 Lane Prince. It has always smoked well, forms cake quickly and evenly, and smokes cool and dry. Conversely, my $65 Savinelli ks316 smoked wet from the beginning and...

    Valentine's Peterson / Zippo Combo

Do you mean an alternate one or an additional one?

    Valentine's Peterson / Zippo Combo

The first half-bowl of Irish Flake smoked pretty wet. Of course, it's pretty humid in the mid-south and I smoke outside/garage. I think i used 4 pipe cleaners during that 1/2 bowl! It has a nice, fairly large bowl and good draw. It feels good in the hand and stayed relatively cool for how wet...

    Google Chrome

I've used Chromium on Linux (the open-source, Linux version of the browser) and played around with some ChromiumOS images in a virtual machine. Google is on-target with their direction, I think. The cloud is where everything is headed as we become increasingly more mobile.
