    Villiger 1888 Early Day

Well, I decided to experiment with the 5100... I poured some aged dark spiced rum in the jar, which I will let sit with the lid on for a couple days before replacing the lid with cheesecloth to let it dry. Who knows, might be good :?: I am buying more 5100 to cellar though...

    Villiger 1888 Early Day

I got this one in the mail today, and was looking forward to trying my first English style blend. Through the tin I could smell the smokey campfire fragrance from the Latakia. Once I got the tin opened the smokey fragrance was pretty extreme... at least to me. even after transferring it to a...

    Humble beginnings...

Couple of Dr. Grabows. Next I'm gonna get a couple of MM cobs... after that I may delve into the world of 'better' briars. As for the tobacco, again, nothing special here yet. All from the tobacco bar at the local tobacconist. From left to right is 'cool aromatic', a horrible all black...

    Something rancid...

    Something rancid...

Not sure what this is, but I'm learning a few key lessons early on in this new 'hobby' of mine. I have no idea what I'm smoking because I'm pretty sure the Tobacconist changed the name. They call it 'Cool Aromatic', an all black cavendish which smelled great. However, when smoked it tastes like...

    Zippo pipe lighter...

I was pretty happy to pick up a Zippo pipe lighter... great company. However, I used it for the first time today and found myself reaching for the matches ! Fairly difficult to puff hard enough to get the flame to reach down into the bowl. Maybe I need to tweek it or something...

    Humble beginnings...

My 'smoking lounge / cellar' ;) Gotta start somewhere right ? Out of curiosity, is it bad for the sunlight to come in a bit on the jars ?

    Hello from Dallas...

Thanks... Only been enjoying the pipe for a couple months now. For the moment, smoking various Altadis Aromatics in a good ole Dr. Grabow. :o I have'nt had a chance to try anything else, as all the tobacconists in my area carry are these Altadis aromatics... I ordered some 1888 Early Day and...
