i mail-ordered a few ounces of Amsterdam and Turkish the other day. Figure i can hand-roll it if i don't like it in the pipe. Also a little of their Black Cav to blend with CH, PA, etc.

Secret ingredients, bittersweet choc'lit, & beer. I prefer stew beef,cubed over ground chuck. Bacon is ALWAYS good. ...+1 to NO BEANS. & celery is Just Wrong.

+1 what the Wizard said. No hard and fast rule. Run a pipe cleaner thru the stem, set 'er down and relight 20 minutes to an hour later, no problem. Seems to work better with Burleys than aros.

I like the IDEA of a Zippo, but haven't had much luck with them over the years. Wooden matches work best for me. Or a Bic from the gas station when i'm out & about.

I used "atmos fresholator" in the 1980s which i imagine was like the Decatur product. Had a wintergreen scent. Nowadays i use white rum, the higher the proof the better. Bourbon works pretty good too.
