    Rubber bites

I also got mine from my local B&M and had the same problem. I did the same as you and ordered some on online. It appears that the BJ Long are a bit thicker. They have lasted twice as long.

    pipe elitism

I hope post doesn't sound preachy. It is not my intention. I have been reading this post with some interest and have decided that I am a pipe elitist. I started smoking about 5 years ago and had pipes that gurgled, got too hot, and the drugstore tobacco wasn't enjoyable. As I learned more...

    Pipe sizes over the years

I am somewhat new to pipe smoking. Recently I purchased an old Peterson pipe made around 1917 and a WDC Wellington. They seem somewhat small. My question - Have larger pipes become more popular today than they were 60 years ago or have I just happened to buy a couple of small pipes?

    Holding pipe in Mouth

So what kind of pipe guy are you?

When I first started smoking, I smoked the Savenili and Stanwell Churchwardens. The main drawback was that I could not do much while smoking them. I went to the shorter versions and ended up with a number of Ser Jacopos. I like the bent design and the way these pipes look.

    Desert Island Smokes...

The first brand of higher end pipes I am purchasing are Ser Jacopo's and they smoke great for me. I would choose a bent design. Currently my favorite is a Picta # 10. The tobacco choice would be more difficult. Since I am a fairly new smoker, I tend toward mild aromatics. This month I...

    Hello from Omaha

Many years ago I worked on the Rosebud Reservation in SD. I needed to take a break from school. Three years in college was wearing on me. I worked as a dormitory counselor for a year and as a cook in the kitchen the next year. It was a great experience getting to know the community. After...
