Just under two week to the show! For those of you who are making the trip, I look forward to meeting you.

The smoking tent will be up and open no later than 5pm on Friday. We are hoping it's closer to noon....we'll see how it goes.

There are still seats available for the Saturday evening banquet. This year we are featuring Rick Newcombe and his presentation on "Pipe Smoking in the Movies." This is a great presentation filled with many movie clips. You won't want to miss it.

We have only sold 91 of 300 Carvers Raffle tickets. If you want your chance to win a 7 Day Set of Cavaliers made by North America's best carvers there's still time. Tickets are 1 for $25 or 5 for $100. All proceeds are split between the 7 winning carvers.

Go to the registration page to get your banquet tickets, carvers raffle tickets and to register for the carvers contest if you are a pipemaker.

See you soon!

Scottie

We are just a few days out from the show!

How many of your beautiful faces am I going to see this weekend?

Awesome!

Scottie, any update on the Carver's Contest? Have there been any more entries since the last update? I'd be reallllllllllly sad to see you only have 7 or 8 entries, after having 50-some odd entries last year.

We have 31 entries as of this morning. We will have a few more as people turn theirs in when they get to the show. With such a demanding shape I think we will see around 40 entries this year.

I cannot wait to see them all!

We had a wonderful show this weekend! I would like to thank those of you who made the trip into KC to spend your weekend with us. I will post a few pictures some time today (I have a bit of cleaning up to do since I was gone all weekend). If you were at the show and took some pictures, please post them.

The Carvers contest had some great entries this year. The winners and honorable mentions are below. I'll post a picture of my entry soon. Chance Whittamore of Great Estate Briar won the Carver's Raffle. He said he couldn't wait to get the set home and start smoking the pipes.

I was honored that my Gourd Calabash won 'Best Non Briar Pipe'. On a side note: Hey, Bobby.......I take credit cards!

Hey, you take PayPal too, as evidenced by the Avocado I have at home waiting for me! :p

The show was a blast, and it was great to see all of the collectors and carvers out and about.

I always enjoy pipe show but far more importantly my wife had a very good time! She was somehow gifted a manicure/pedicure courtesy of the club?? She also enjoyed shopping at the CC Plaza and two BBQ dinners (and lines) at Arthur Bryant's and Joe's KC. I'm even sauced out!

The Hotel complex was very nice with friendly employee's. I never had to wait more than 30 second for an elevator and I miss the fresh rooms/halls, comfy bed, huge walk in rain shower and tight blackout curtains. The smoking area was fairly cool, leafy and protected from the breeze. It got pretty warm on Sat but the tent area was shaded and comfortable, a big upgrade from the Expo location.

My Castello collection was well received. I got many compliments and an award from the club. I have my son's wedding at this time next year but I will return in the future. Next show for me will be Vegas in early Nov. I hope to see many of you there!

Does anyone have any pics of the winning carvers pipes? I figure they will show up in a future issue of pipes and tobacco magazine, but I am having a hard time waiting that long to see them. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Some of the winning carvers have posted pictures of their pipes on Facebook and Instagram. Pictures of the set together will come out in the Fall issue of P&T. I'll see if I can't rustle up some pictures to post here.

Thanks for posting a pic of your winning entry Jesse, and congratulations on being one of the 7 selected! You have come a long way, in a relatively short period of time!

The blast and accent ring are really eye catching, and you managed to design a cavalier/collector that looks to be comfortable in the hand as well!

WoW Wayne, as radical as your design appears to be, it still looks to be very symmetrical. You also did a fantastic job orientating the grain! Congratulations on your winning entry, and a fantastic milestone in your pipe making career!

Congrats to you best-ofs (Scottie, DSH) and winner (Jesse) 2x! :face:
