I've never had it, but folks love it.

If it is sealed, it might be a good thing to trade for what you'd like better. Or, you could try your hand at some after-market blending. It'd make a nice base for an english.

Don't ruin it by blending it's too good for that! Ken  :rendeer:
Pacem en Puffing! :santa:

I agree with the above - if you need a blender like this, McClelland 5100 is the way to go. Smoke the Red Ribbon straight.

Thanks Kapn
The wife is gifting me a pipe for our anniversary on the 13th
It will be the beginning of my Va only pipes
right now all mine are english and balkan only.

PB,

That is a wonderful Va and worthy of learning to work with slowly and even giving it it's own pipe. I must agree with Ken and Kapnismologist, it's too nice to blend. I'm not sure it would be the one I would recommend for someone just getting into Virginia tobaccos, but it certainly is a benchmark Va to many and a fine tobacco. A fine gift indeed.

Natch

Natch is right. It is a fantastic VA on its own. No need to blend it. Just sip it slowly and you will discover what a top notch VA is all about. Also, try DGT, you'll be in for a big surprise

:lol!: :lol!:

Sorry all!! I've never had it! I just remember William Serad suggesting in his article on after-market blending using MRR as an English base.

And, maybe that makes some sense; better Virginia base makes for a better English.

Oh well.
