I wear the MacDougall tartan, (yes a rebel clan). My maternal grandmother was a McDowell (sept of MacDougall) I also have ties to Campbell, Ross, Ogilvie, and Elliot some being Highlanders, others Lowlanders and some Border clans. I guess my ancestors 'got around' :darklord:Doc Manhattan":aiw5c4f9 said:Welcome aboard, kilted1!
(Which tartan do you wear?)
Yeah I'm definitely a Southerner (now) I've lived in 'The South - Texas and Georgia' longer than where I was raised (Upstate, NY) but I've always had the 'Southern state of mind and being'. As a kid I always dreamed of living elsewhere, where freedom and leave me alone on 'MY LAND' still meant something. I always rejected 'big government' in pursuit of what our US Constitution and Bill of Rights guarantee us, favoring 'States Rights' and 'Local Governance' over a large and invasive federal (feudalistic) system.EJinVA":i9hifgsu said:Welcome Kilted 1,

Well I did notice your pipe is upside down, presumably to keep the rain out. Everyone knows (who have smoked 1792 that is) that an upside down pipe concentrates the 'goodness' of 1792 but for the novice, this concentration is often over-powering :tongue:decaf":q17oxx5f said:Welcome, from a fellow newcomer.
I just smoked 1792 for the first time the other day, my first experience with tonquin as well. Not sure what I think yet. I haven't smoked it again though. It kind of left my mouth...buzzing.
Hooo Wee!kilted1":23qg0yij said:Yeah I'm definitely a Southerner (now) I've lived in 'The South - Texas and Georgia' longer than where I was raised (Upstate, NY) but I've always had the 'Southern state of mind and being'. So don't let the fact that I'm not a 'Native Southerner' fool you. I think you'll find I'm a 'Rebel to the Core'. Our family records show recorded births in what is now America, but then was New Amsterdam in 1570's so I claim myself a 'Native American' (though not on tax forms )and I believe that's what counts the most.
It's time for 'True Americans' to stand firm and defend our heritage and stop letting the pencil pushers in Washington enslave us with a socialist agenda.
Too political for ya? I'm a jaded old fart, get over it!

I'm a Gunn myself, though very very diluted. One of my best friends since high school is a MacKay--we'd always bring back the old rivlary when we were talking smack.kilted1":qbjj7yew said:I wear the MacDougall tartan, (yes a rebel clan).
