I'd like to put my moderator hat on for a moment and say that we do respect the other forums and are glad that they are all here, and we do not wish to see this forum become a vehicle for disillusioned members of other forums to come and continue grievances that were stopped on another forum. In other words, we all now know what happened, let it die.
Anyone who wishes to join in and fit in here is most welcome. Like every other forum, we have our own tendencies and flavor. There are/have been pipe forums where the focus is collector grade and rare stuff, forums where the focus is Kaywoodies and cobs, forums with more of a mainstream advertiser driven format, forums dedicated to Peterson pipes. We are not quite like any of them, and they not like us. That's kind of the point, there are enough forums to find one or two where you really fit in.
We have been here a long time and the mindset and tendencies of this place were hard earned. We would hope that you find it to your liking as it is and do not see it as a place where you feel you could/should step in and try to change the tone or subject matter. It's really easy to start your own forum if you feel the need to create something.
And with that, I'll close this thread and look forward to getting back to the subject of pipes and tobaccos.
(Yes, we close threads, delete offensive posts, stop derailed discussions and do all the moderating things the other forums do too, when we see fit)
