I decided to pry myself out of the house and mozy on down river to the show.
Excellent, be sure to introduce yourself! I went to the meet and greet this evening, but it was outside in an open area and after 7 it was cool and very windy, so we didn't stay long. Hopefully the sun will be shining tomorrow.

I don't recall seeing Hermit, hope that I didn't miss you.

Somehow, I did miss a picture with Pylorns - but it was great to meet you.

Wow, where to start.  I just came home from the show and we're heading back out to watch LSU football somewhere shortly.

I've been to a number of shows and I have to say this show was the most fun I've had at a pipe event.  Toby Ducote and the NOLA pipe club outdid themselves.  The new venue was quite simply fantastic.  I can't imagine Harrah's being anywhere near as convenient and accommodating.  The vendor list was impressive and we had plenty of room.  Smoking on the attached patio was fantastic, sofa's, tables, just terrific.

Forum members (PipesMagazine):
I hope that I don't forget anyone but I met:  Ryan Alden (Lonestar).  Shantiques and Voorhees - guys it was a real pleasure to share a pipe with you.  Cosmic and his wife.  Toby of course.  Zack Hamrick and Greta.  Pappymac (club member).  I even met my neighbor - jmiller at the show, neither of us knew the other was going!

I messaged Ryan Alden before the showing and asked if he has one of his famous Author shapes - he sure did and it was a rare smooth.  Yep, I feel prey immediately.   I enjoyed the pipe at the show and I love all aspects of this one.  That blew most of my show funds, but if you have to go, go with an Alden, right?

Zack Hamrick, pipe carver and a real cool cat!  Somehow I missed the delightful Greta.

Sid and Sue from the Magnolia Pipe Club (Jackson MS).  A very gracious couple!  Sid won the slow smoke contest on a very windy evening, easily outpacing the field.

And, who's watching the shop????  All three moderators of the PipesMagazine.com forum were at the show. I'm sure chaos ensued on the forum.

I had a Triumph jacket on (the only downside - it is too darn cold in NOLA for October!)

Thanks for taking time to post up the pics Al. Looks like everyone had a fantastic time!

BTW, that Alden Author is stunning, and has all the qualities I really like in a pipe. Congrats on another quality acquisition!

Unbelievably, I didn't get a picture with show organizer Pylorns!

Tonight it is Saints football at the "Bayou Beer Garden" with all of my daughters friends and relatives.  The NOLA pipe club meets here, so it is pipe/cigar friendly.  My son-in-law and father-in-law are cigar/pipe guys, so we'll have a good time.   If anyone is still in town, drop by!

Sadly, our kids go back to work tomorrow, so we are heading South. We're making my wife's pilgrimage to Memphis and Tupelo and all of the Elvis sights... I am making a stop at the "Country Squire" pipe shop in Jackson MS, which is right on the way. We're spending two days in Memphis and I have my BBQ places all mapped out (also the Rock & Soul Museum). From Memphis, we are heading to Nashvile for two days for the Country Music Hall of Fame and other sites. We haven't done a proper road trip in many years, so this has been fun. I already miss my daughter and son-in-law.

Don't know if I ran across any of you guys I was there for about four hours. Got to meet Bruce Weaver, Jesse Jones, and Shane Ireland and a couple others from Bob. Bought a pipe from a new maker maxx capps. Great guy and I highly recommend him!
