Love seein' those old cobs... What's the all-metal pipe? It's got a nifty shape to it.

I think this thread just became NSFW, with all that cob porn. Love the bulldog cobs.

Kyle, maybe the stem going under water isn't about it nearly sinking but the stem/shank filling with water and being less buoyant/balanced than the rest of the cob. Kinda like a two sided scale, even if the stem is still less dense than the water, it'll still go under because the bowl is still less dense than that. Might be worth further experimentation with a forever stem...but in a bathtub, not a lake.

Cobs are the blue jeans of the pipe world. Tough, cheap, casual, accepted, easy to replace.
You just described most of the women I ever dated in my life (and those were the better ones!). My wife, excluded, of course.

Natch

The all metal is an aristocob it uses a corn cob insert :) one of these days I'll photo all of them those were what I considered the more interesting ones about 3 dozen cob additions ago.

Natch, you terrible, hilarious man.

life, neat pipe. Does one replace those cob inserts? It's something I can see Crash Corrigan lighting up on one of his old sci-fi movies. It's neat.

I love my cobs guys. I considered them hugely inferior to briar but then discovered it was just the stem that irked me. Picked up a forever stem, and now I love the cob. I generally only smoke them outside, when going for a walk or mowing the lawn, but am quite attached to them. Nothing wrong with a bespoke suit, but wearing blue jeans is pretty comfortable most days.
