Well, the other day, as often happens, the owner of the B&M I frequent brought in a box of old estates for me to look at. He is not as familiar with pedigrees and brands as I am and so I always go through them to see if there is anything that is special or unique. Best find was a 1918 Dunhill several months ago, but there have been some other nice pipes as well.

Anyway, this time I found an old Kaywoodie with the white club in the shank as opposed to the stem. I was curious about it as it had fantastic grain, although it barely peeks through the heavy patina. I found on http://www.pipephil.eu/logos/en/logo-kaywoodie.html that the shank logo was particular to Kaywoodie Super Grains produced before 1938.

I guess I'm curious about what other information any of you can provide, as well as what would be a fair price to sell the pipe for? Unfortunately I dont have any pictures of the pipe, but if there is a lot of interest I can try to get some.

i would be interested in seeing pics.  I have a couple kaywoodies and enjoy smoking them.  I find the stinger to aid in a cooler, dryer smoke.  You probably know more than I do about pipes, but pics of pipes are always a good thing. I might even be interested in purchasing said pipe if the price was right.

Does anybody know if the Gray Fox Kaywoodie Compendium was saved and posted anywhere? It was a great resource. Sad if it disappeared entirely when the forum closed up shop.

I'm not sure what was contained in the Gray Fox Kaywoodie Compendium. The old GFO boys have a new site now but there isn't any section listed there labeled as a compendium.

Below is everything I have on Kaywoodie pipes.   I hope it's helpful.

Jesse,
The old Kaywoodie shank logo pipes command very good $$ today. As you know, original condition is everything, and if it's a desirable shape it's worth even more.
The price for a billiard, a very common shape in good condition with the ball fitment should be worth no less than $80. IMO.
I have seen other shapes go for $150+.
I recently sold a Pat. Applied for with the shank logo for $180. To a serious collector.
Hope this helps.
Andy

Thanks gentlemen. I will see if I can get some photos posted. If anyone is interested it might be available for sale later.

It sounds very interesting, I'll look forward to the pictures. Having the stinger intact definitely increases the value to a collector.

Pictures as requested. As you can see, the condition is not pristine, but the briar is in very good shape albeit with a lot of patina.
