what is the brush for if the cream is premade? and how does that cream work? I have to use the brush and soap or my face looks like a sloppy pizza after

A brush is just as good for cream as it is for soap. It helps lift the follicles and work the lather into all the nooks and crannies.

It's just cream not lather. You put a little cream in the bowl and wallop on its noggin with that brush... Mantic59 has an entire YouTube series if you care to watch.

My new Feather is like shaving with a ninja sword.

I finally checked that video out I get it, just a different form of the bar soap, I still need to get a safety razor, and ditch these million dollar 5 blade whatamacallit razors

I sent one of our members a starter set or I would hook you up.. I'm running a little short at the moment.

Maybe try www.badgerandblade.com buy/sell/trade. You should be able to score a perfectly functional de for about
$10 shipped.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but I'll take the joy of not shaving over fancy shaving any day.
Some of us wind up doing both. I've been bearded half my life but shaving since I was 13. With the exception of a year sporting the lumberjack look, I've always shaved my neck, at least part of my cheeks, and my scalp for a few years. My legs are another story... :p

I'm with you Alfredo.. if I have to fancy shave I'll just go unshaven.

Expensive Gel in a can that turns into a foam laden with anaesthesia.. Battery operated shaving handles hosting gel striped cartridges with 3/4/5/6 blades? Or one of those jobs you plug in a wall? No thanks, that crap is all to fancy.

If I could grow a full beard I probably would my wife likes her men scruffy and manly (her words) but unfortunately I can only get some mean looking side burns and grow a decent Goatee and summer hair in between, (ya know summer here , summer there) so when the summer hairs get to wirey I like to whack them down
My oldest boy is 25 and he can grow an amazing full beard in a weeks time, like it is his job

When I shave I use my high-tech Trac II and Barbasol but only to whack my summer hair, ala BC. I know to those of you who use the good stuff that is but a yawp, but pizza delivery men are supposed to look scruffy:).

If your going that route there are really only two options worthwhile, IMO.

Barborsol is the best of the can stuff.. a better option is Kiss My Face brushless shave cream.. the big bottle is about 6 bucks and will last for eternity. Bonus: if you ever decide to use a brush the KMF literally explodes lather when used with one.

Trac II used in conjunction with the Bump Fighter handle (bump fighter cartridges suck! ) is about as good as it gets with a cartridge razor.. for disposable: that yellow & white single blade Bic sold at Wal-Mart , Walgreen , etc for $2 Per bag of 50,000 will shave you as well as anything on the market when properly hydrated and shaving for reduction.

today's shave:
Dorco shavette fitted with a fresh Feather blade. Proraso preshave (every time i shave), osma soap, osma alum block for the cuts followed by art of shaving sandalwood aftershave. i really let the bear go for far too long this time, hence the cuts.
