I think I'm doing something wrong. Whenever I light my pipe, the tobacco doesn't just catch light, I get a significant flame shooting up from the bowl, a flame I need to blow out. As I type this, I'm wondering if the problem isn't caused by the Beeline I'm using to light. Any ideas, or is this just something that happens?

Cheers,
Jack

Puzzling to me. Never had any such problem at all, but I just clicked the link for Beeline and thought "what the hell?" I always used my brass pipe Zippo, and a regular Zippo before that, no matter what some connoisseurs say.

Thanks for the feedback, all. I'll try drying out the tobacco some more, and try lighting it with a match. I have a Zippo pipe lighter, but I've found the fuel evaporates faster than I'd like. I might try picking up a Colibri lighter and see how that goes.

Youj must be rich to buy Colibri lighters...since they only last about a week!

How about a couple of suggestions from a guy that's tried 'em ALL! If is was me doin' the buyin'...I'd get a Promethius that has the little swing-out tamper in it. Cheap and they work well and forever.

If you like a torch lighter (I use them all the time on pipes...just for no longer than about a second at a time) find a few "Ronson Jetlite" lighters. They cost just a few bucks, work perfectly and last 4-ever!!!

(these are famous, and usually available at Wal Mart for even lower prices)

Good luck!
